I was very happy to be in Brazil, and to Brasília more precisely, this month. Aside from taking some time off and enjoying what is objectively the best cuisine in the world, I had the pleasure of visiting the Universidade de Brasília (UnB).

At the UnB, I gave a talk entitled “Modos quasinormais de buracos negros em teorias efetivas da gravitação,” based on these papers, at the Centro Internacional de Física (CIF). The talk was streamed live. If you are curious, check it out here! I also invite you, web surfer, to visit CIF’s website and explore the excellent science being done there.

While visiting, I was hosted by Jonas P. Pereira with whom I had productive discussions. I also greatly enjoyed the after-lunch coffees with other faculty members. Thank you all for the warm hospitality.

Here is a photo of an encounter with a rare bird specimen, a female Mutum (Crax fasciolata) at the Parque Nacional de Brasília.
